The "Renewal" would require the Village to pay for 60 new Affordable Housing units
As reported in the Ridgewood News on January 25, the Council of Affordable Housing (COAH) would require the Village of Ridgewood to provide 60 new affordable housing units if the "Renewal" is approved.
Under its proposed "Renewal" project, The Valley Hospital, according to Rutishauser, is calling for approximately 378,000 square feet to be built, which under the proposed guidelines would require the town to build about 60 more units of affordable housing. Asked where those units would go, Rutishauser said, "I haven't got the foggiest idea".

If the Valley Expansion is approved, 60 affordable housing units would need to be built somewhere in town.
